Topic:

A Road Map to the Procurement Maze

Where do you begin when it is time to purchase something? The procurement process and all its steps can be overwhelming. Ever feel like you need a road map? Do you just get phone quotes or put out a written bid? If creating a written bid, what should be included in it and in which order? What do you base your award on and what processes should you follow? How do you handle the vendor community during the bidding process and what is involved in contract negotiations and in managing the contract? Tonight's presentation will tackle these potentially overwhelming tasks, as well as explore many more purchasing aspects.

The discussion will include amusing true life stories from the speaker's past experiences that hopefully will help you avoid many potential mistakes in your future purchases. Questions are more than welcomed. At the end of the evening, you should have several new tricks to use to help you in your next procurement and maybe a souvenir map!
